Take a Look in the Mirror (2003) is the sixth album by the band Korn. It's also the last album with guitarist Brian "Head" Welch. Within its songs, "Did My Time" was featured previously in the O.S.T. for "Lara Croft Tomb Raider: The Cradle of Life", and "Right Now" was accompanied by a provocatory cartoon video drawn by Spike and Mike. In contrast to the more mellow overall sound of their previous album, Untouchables, Take A Look In The Mirror marks Korn's return to a raw, stripped-down sound of their earlier albums. The album features a reworking and re-recording of the track "Alive", the first song the band wrote which appeared only on the bands first demo up until this point. Also of note is the song "Play Me", which features rapper Nas and is the first Korn album since Follow the Leader to feature such. The album is followed by a long silence before a live cover of Metallica's "One" kicks in. The album was also released in a "clean" version. While the album sold over 1 million US units, it still remains the lowest selling Korn album.

City of Evil is Avenged Sevenfold's third full-length album. It was released on June 7, 2005 by Warner Brothers. Unlike their previous albums, lead vocalist M. Shadows' screams are only heard in the background of a couple of songs. This, along with other changes in sound, mark City of Evil as a departure from the metalcore tropes of previous releases from the band. This new style has created controversy between fans, some call them sell outs while others say that they just wanted to move away from repetitive metalcore albums. The album was ranked number 63 on the October 2006 issue of Guitar World magazine's list of the 100 greatest guitar albums of all time.

blink-182 was a Pop Punk band formed in 1992 by Mark Hoppus (vocals and bass), Tom DeLonge (vocals and guitar) and Scott Raynor (drums) in Poway, California, a northern suburb of San Diego. Originally, the band's official name was "Blink," however, the numerical three digit suffix was appended early in their career following an objection from an Irish band with the same name. Travis Barker replaced Raynor on drums in 1998, midway through a U.S. tour. The group went on indefinite hiatus in early 2005 and the possibility of a reunion has neither been officially confirmed nor denied. DeLonge went on to form Angels and Airwaves while Hoppus and Barker spawned +44.
The band is known for its catchy, simple melodies and lyrical toilet humor. Songwriters Hoppus and DeLonge cite punk rock bands such as The Descendents and Screeching Weasel as their early influences, however, the band's songwriting and production was driven by a pop sensibility. Their last album featured more musical experimentation and lyrical sophistication than previous releases.

Prison Break is an American television series that premiered on the Fox Network on August 29, 2005. The story revolves around a man who was sentenced to death for a crime he did not commit and his brother's elaborate plan to help him escape his death sentence. Created by Paul Scheuring, the show is produced by Adelstein-Parouse Productions in association with Original Television and 20th Century Fox Television. The current executive producers are Paul Scheuring, Matt Olmstead, Dawn Parouse, Marty Adelstein, Neal Moritz and Brett Ratner. Its theme music is composed by Ramin Djawadi, and was nominated for a Primetime Emmy Award in 2006. The show is currently undergoing its second season, which premiered on August 21, 2006. Having planned two seasons worth of story beforehand, executive producer Paul Scheuring says, "With success comes questions about Season Three, so now we’re framing the first two seasons as chapter one of the ‘trilogy’."
The serialised story structure of Prison Break is attributed to the format of storytelling adapted by the writers as each episode covers a part of the escape plan, a similar format used by Lost and 24. The first season of Prison Break was primarily filmed at Joliet Prison which also contributed to the uniqueness of the show. Its success and recognition as a prison drama also revived interest in the genre. The show's official magazine, published by Titan Publishing, was launched on 21 November 2006.

A Public Affair is the fourth studio album by American pop singer Jessica Simpson. The album is Simpson's first effort following her divorce from Nick Lachey in early 2006. With only a month to go until the release of A Public Affair, Simpson switched the cover picture of the album. The first cover art for the album surfaced showing a sultry Simpson with her hair down, sporting a dress with the straps pulled down. However it was ultimately decided to go with more of a girl-next-door look. Simpson's representative Rob Shuter tells TMZ the final decision on a cover had not been made by the time one had to be provided to Simpson's record label, so the first cover option (of three choices they had) was given. That cover was ultimately not chosen, and Simpson went with the cover shown here. The new album cover has a casual-looking Simpson "with nothing but a t-shirt on," her hair pulled back and wearing a ring on her right index finger.
